Key Responsibilities
- Engine Room Management: Oversee daily operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of main propulsion machinery, auxiliary systems, and electrical installations.
- Technical Supervision: Direct and manage engine room ratings, technicians, and junior engineers, ensuring adherence to strict safety and environmental regulations.
- System Inspections: Conduct rigorous periodic maintenance, manage fuel/lube oil bunkering operations, and maintain accurate machinery logbooks.
- Emergency Readiness: Maintain critical watch-standing vigilance, ready to rapidly diagnose problems and execute technical repairs under operational pressure.
Requirements: Who Can Apply?
- Qualifications: Valid, internationally recognized STCW Certificate of Competency (CoC) as a 2nd Engineer on ships with main propulsion machinery of 3000 kW or more.
- Experience: Proven sea time and successful experience serving as a Second Engineer on large ocean-going merchant vessels (preferably container ships).
- Maritime Credentials: Complete set of valid STCW training certificates, medical fitness certificate, and a clean seaman's record.
- Professional Attributes: Strong technical problem-solving capacity, clear communication in maritime English, leadership capability, and high resilience to long ocean transits.
